5 Healthy Lunchbox Ideas for the Whole Family

Between fussy little eaters, school regulations and busy work/life schedules, packing lunchboxes can certainly be a daunting task at times.

It‘s heart-warming to see so many schools jump on board with the waste-free, healthy lunchbox initiatives, however, it can be overwhelming for busy mums and dads to create a lunchbox that pleases everybody. To make your life a little easier, we have put together our favourite healthy lunchbox ideas that you can use to pack all of the lunches in your household – the kids and the adults!

1. Salad Wraps

We love how quick and easy these are to make. For an added protein and flavour hit you could even use leftover dinner meats and roast veggies from the night before.

2. Veggie Sticks & Dip

The 3 most popular dips – for all ages – are Guacamole, Tzatziki, and Hummus. And the best part is that they are all so simple to make. Pair these with some delicious veggie sticks and you can’t go wrong – carrots, beans, and celery will generally store best in the lunchbox.

3. Yoghurt

There are so many types of yoghurts available today to suit everybody – Greek, Coconut, Almond, Kefir….the list goes on! Choose whichever suits your taste, however, try to look for yoghurts with no added sugar.

4. Fresh Fruit

Such an easy addition to any lunchbox. Start with an apple and add small amounts of any other sweeter fruit you like – grapes, watermelon, berries, peaches, etc.

5. Healthy Muffins

If you find the time on the weekend, you can make a batch of healthy muffins for the week ahead. There are plenty of recipes floating around on the internet to suit every taste – just try to find one that uses no added sugar.

Pro Tip – If you didn’t have time to pre-wash all your fruit after you bought it, give the day’s lunchbox fruit a quick wash with Chamomile Dishwashing Liquid while you are cleaning the breakfast dishes!
