5 Ways to Use Essential Oils Around Your Home

Are you stuck in a rut, only using your essential oils in your diffuser? Are you looking for new ways to make use of your essential oils? While we agree that using an ultrasonic diffuser is a great choice to fragrance your home with essential oils, there are lots of other ways to use essential oils around your home.

Here are our five favourite ways to use essential oils around your home without a diffuser.

1. Keep Clothes Smelling Fresh

Add a drop or two of your favourite essential oil or essential oil blend to a cotton ball and place them strategically around your wardrobe or in your dresser drawers to keep your clothes smelling fresh. You can also add these to your linen cupboard.

We recommend Lavender or Cedarwood essential oils.

2. Toilet Roll Diffuser

If your bathroom needs a little boost of freshness, you can add a few drops of essential oil to the inside of the cardboard on a toilet roll. When the toilet roll is used you will get a little burst of freshness. If you don’t want the oil to get onto the paper, add the drops to an empty roll and keep it by the side.

We recommend Grapefruit or Lemon essential oils for a fresh citrus burst.

3. Create Your Own Signature Cleaning Scent

Create your own signature cleaning scent by adding a few drops of your favourite essential oils to the Sanazone Odourless Disinfectant. Just add a few drops of essential oil to the bottle and shake well.

Here are a few of our favourite blends to get you started:

Citrus Cleanse Blend
2 drops Lemon
2 drops Lemongrass
2 drops Tea Tree

Tranquility Blend
3 drops Lemon
1 drop Lavender
2 drops Bergamot

Fresh Breeze Blend
2 drops Eucalyptus
2 drops Peppermint
2 drops Orange

4. Deodorise Bins

Put a few drops of essential oil onto a cotton ball and drop it into the bottom of your garbage bin to help eliminate odour from your garbage!

We recommend Peppermint or Lemon essential oils.

5. Use as a Carpet Deodoriser

If your carpets are starting to smell bad between carpet cleans, never fear, you can quickly deodorise and freshen up carpets using essential oils. Mix 2 cups of baking soda with approximately 25 drops of essential oil and place it into a shaker jar. Shake well over the carpet, leave it for a couple of hours, and then vacuum it up.

We recommend Lavender essential oil or Wellbeing essential oil blend.
